Rachael’s love of animals began at a very early age in southeast Michigan, where she lived next door to several farms and had access to a variety of wildlife on her family’s creek front property. After moving to southwest Missouri, her family got its first canine companion, a Dalmatian, named Dolly. The life of Dolly was shortened due to Cushing’s disease, but Rachael’s kinship with animals was stronger than ever. In fact, she began re-homing animals that her family and friends could no longer care for and gladly accepted the role of foster-mom to animals in need.

Currently she has three dogs of her own, which are her only children so far. Rachael is extremely interested in every aspect of animal health and is very proud to be involved in improving the quality of life for all the animals in her community!

Jessica’s love of animals also stems back to her childhood, where she cared for an array of pets over the years including rabbits, lizards, fish, and the family dog. After spending a few years studying animal ecology, she entered the zoological field working at a wildlife park in Arizona. Here she cared for hundreds of exotic animals such as giraffes, zebras, ostrich, and rhinoceros. She also met her fiancé there and recently relocated to the Springfield area when he accepted a job at the Dickerson Park Zoo. Jessica finds the relationships we have with animals to be a very important and rewarding part of pet health and enjoys getting to know the families that visit our clinic.

Jessica enjoys learning and assisting during surgeries and dental procedures, and looks forward to meeting you and your pets. She cares for a cat named Dobbie at home and her personal interests include cooking, rock climbing, camping, and animal conservation.
